Digital care at scale at IU Health

Telehealth programs and strategies grew exponentially in 2020 in response to COVID-19. Driven by the necessity of patient need, and fueled by expanded reimbursement models, telehealth has now become part of patient expectations and clinical operations. In response, IS and informatics professionals find themselves in new models of operational support, focused on technical integration involving context, and new ways to organize strategic priorities. Dr. Webber describes the successes and challenges of using virtual care tools to provide care at increased scale.
